Answer: Screenshots uses images captured by DomainTools.
FAQ: How often are the Screenshots.com images updated?
Answer: Our images are updated as often as we become aware of a change that is significant to capture. Minor modifications, such as date changes or minimal text alterations, are usually not significant enough to trigger a new image update.
FAQ: Can I get my site Screenshot updated?
Answer: Yes! You can request an update by selecting 'queue screenshot for update' under the Screenshot Details box. An update usually appears in within a few hours.
FAQ: Why is my site not on Screenshots.com?
Answer: We may not yet be aware of your site. When you search for your domain, it is queued for an image capture. Check back soon for an update.
FAQ: How are Featured Screenshots selected?
Answer: We monitor major newfeeds for domain names "in the news". These are then selected as Featured Screenshots.
FAQ: Can I include Screenshots.com images on my site?
Answer: Yes, and it's FREE! View the API documentation to get started.
FAQ: I have a robot.txt file on my site yet DomainTools is still capturing my sites screenshot image. Why is that?
Answer: Screenshots does not "crawl" a site. It only grabs an image of a website's home page.
FAQ: Do you ever remove screenshots? What will prompt an image removal?
Answer: We remove images that contain illegal content, such as child pornography, or under court order, for example if a site is defaming someone.
FAQ: Can I download screenshot images from Screenshots.com site?
Answer: You can save an image to your computer by right-clicking on the image and choosing 'save file'.
